DMZ Docs Pitch
The '2025 DMZ Docs Industry Fund' has been reorganized to provide more practical support to documentary creators in Korea and Asia. Production support is divided into three main stages: planning and development (early stage of production), production (production and rough cut stage), and post-production. In this production support competition, Korean and Asian projects currently in the planning and development or production stages. DMZ Docs Industry will do its best to support documentary creators who are producing meaningful works despite the difficult circumstances. We ask for the interest of creators.
* '2025 DMZ Docs Industry' will be held from September 11 to 17, 2025, during the 17th DMZ International Documentary Film Festival.
1. Overview
A. Support Details
Development Support : A total of 10 films from Korea/Asia
- Production Support Fund Per Project KRW 7 million each (Approximately $4,000 to $5,000)
* The number of selected projects and the amount of support may vary depending on the situation.
B. Eligibility
Development Support
- Creators (directors or producers) with Korean or Asian nationality
- No restrictions on new or established creators
- Projects in the early stages of planning, development, and production
- Korean projects that have not received funding from other organizations
- * DMZ International Documentary Film Festival Location Discovery Support (formerly ¡®Incubating Fund¡¯) Excluded
- Asian projects that have not participated in funds or pitches from overseas organizations other than their own country.
- Duplicate applications to the 2025 DMZ International Documentary Film Festival Pitch Program are not allowed.
- Feature-length (60 minutes or longer)
- A project whose copyright is held by the producer or applicant, a pure creative work that aims to be screened on various platforms, including theatrical release
- A project with copyrights secured, if there is an original work
* Projects that are scheduled to pitch at another venue between July 1 and Sep. 14 are not eligible.
Please inform us right away if your project is selected at other venues such as EIDF, Dhaka Lab, Docs by the Sea, etc., after submitting us your application.
2. Application period and application method

B. How to apply
¨ç Click on 'Application Guide' ¡æ 'Apply for Project' on the DMZ Docs Industry website.
¨è Fill out the online application form and attach the required documents.
¨é After submission, check the application completion email that will be sent.

¨è Project proposal (free format): About 10 pages in A4, submitted as a PDF file. Is the amount of content sufficient?
¨é Budget sheet (designated format): Submit as an Excel file.

D. Notes on submission
¨ç If it is difficult to submit online, download the form for submission documents, fill it out, and submit it via email.

¨è Submitted documents will not be returned, and cannot be replaced after submission.
¨é Projects that do not meet the requirements and qualifications for the competition, or projects that cannot be reviewed due to incomplete application forms and documents, will be excluded from the review without notice.
¨ê All communication will be sent to the applicant's email address, so please make sure to provide an accurate email address.
3. Selection Process
A. Selection through the screening committee organized by the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival.
B. Announcement of selected works: Individual notification and publication of selected works on the website (scheduled for April).
4. Implementation of Selected Works
A. After the end of the contract period, the grant must be settled according to the usage guidelines. (Submit a settlement report and a results report)
B. For projects that have been completed, the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival and the DMZ Docs Industry logo must be included in the credits when submitting the screening copy for the film festival. (Designated form)
C. Report on the progress and achievements of the project
(e.g. whether the film has been screened at a film festival, won an award, or been released in Korea or abroad, etc.)
