Synopsis

Documentary director and mother with a daughter, I want to solve the problem regarding my daughter’s toe walking through making the documentary. I approach the mothers of disabled children with a camera, in the hope of healing my wounded heart and anxiety when I could understand the feeling, the life with complications and the process of accepting their disabilities that they confess.

The documentary film is comprised of the interviews with the mothers of disabled children, the podcast that they produce together with the director, and the reading performance that deals with the whole process and comment on it.

After completing the film, could I accept my child's toe walking for what it is?​

    In 2000, she entered the field of the independent documentary through 'Docu In' that she had contact with in the VJ course of 'the Citizens' Coalition for Democratic Media'. She received the Human Rights Film of the Year at Seoul Human Rights Film Festival, the PIFF Mecenat Award at Busan International Film Festival and the grand prize at Seoul Independent Film Festival with Return To The Land (2004) and Earth's Women (2009), the documentaries dealing with the family returning to rural community and the life of rural women. In succession to the two films, she had planned to make a trilogy 『The Story of country』 with the story of the disappearing farmers, but she had a period of blank due to the sudden marriage and childbirth. She went through a hard time to overcome dramatic change and psychological trauma that the child brought, and takes up her camera again.
