My father was born in Kinmen, in 1958 when 823 artillery, which the Chinese Kuomintang and the Communist Party of China occurred across the war. He often told the tourists in the memory of the war. I was born in 1987, the time when ROC Government declared martial law in Taiwan. I had no interest of the war as a young one who grown up in the democratic generation, until 2017 I traveled to Jeju Island, and began to re-know my father and Kinmen Island.
