Synopsis

The 2018 Winter Olympics in Korea brought excitement to the country, but the news that 500-year-old trees were being cut down to make way for a ski slope shocked locals. Despite widespread protests, the government proceeded with the plan, and 17,000 trees were cut down. The government promised to rebuild the forest after the games, but instead, a cable car was constructed, raising questions about the true cost of hosting large-scale events like the Olympics.

Review

Many large-scale ceremonies and events in our world focus on spectacle rather than sustainability. Even though these events may last only a few days, their scars can last for generations. It was a stark example of this during the 2018 Winter Olympics in Korea. However, while many people were excited about the event on the mountain, some people had different opinions, each with their specialty.
