The construction of the Mosque outside Kyungpook National University has stopped. ¡°Koreans first! Fight till the end to stop the Mosque!¡± This quiet neighborhood is tainted with provocative banners. Without the Mosque, the Muslim graduate students of KNU continue their daily studies in small rented rooms or vacant places within the University. What meaning does the Mosque have for these students? And why are the neighbors opposed to the Mosque? Is there any way to live together despite their differences?
People live side by side despite their differences. But some differences turn into sources of fear and exclusion. Recently, the exclusion of migrants and the fear of Islam has become a global phenomenon. The conflict around the construction of a Mosque in Daegu, South Korea is a microcosm of this phenomenon. By looking into the causes and development of the conflict, this film attempts to find ways for mutual understanding, respect, and co-existence.
