DMZ Docs Fund program extends support for the documentary projects in the entire filmmaking process, from development to pre-production, production, and post-production.
The Development Fund selects Korean and Asian projects in the stage of pre-production and development and provides a subsidy worth 5,000,000 Korean Won each. The Production Fund, formerly DMZ Project Fund, supports projects in the production stage. Laureate projects benefit production subsidies, pitching opportunities, business meetings, and pre-training workshops. The Post-Production Fund for Korean projects provides in-kind support which covers color correction, sound mixing, and DCP packaging so that the selected projects will be able to present their completed films in better quality.
With the new establishment of DMZ Industry in 2019, the institution was able to secure an infusion of renewed funds and was able to support 17 documentary projects in 2019, and 15 projects in 2020. This year in 2021, DMZ Industry will continue its extensive support for promising projects from Korea and Asia.
