Five firefighters, vacantly looking at the sky, start telling stories from their careers, revealing the regrets and sorrows that remain deep within their minds. 

A, the captain of rescue squad, has tied and untied knots thousands of times at during rescues; but could only sometimes save people with those skills. B, a rescue squad member, is getting used to facing the dead soulless faces of those caught by fire, little by little. C, a fire investigator, saw the corpses of burned children still hugging each other from when the fire broke out while their parents were not home, and after which he felt like making a song for them. D, a manager working in the office, felt like facing fire again after he had run away from an accident five years earlier. E, a firefighter, collapsed and blacked out at the fire station one day, unable to endure the extreme feelings even he could not comprehend.  

They realize human limitations exist at the borderline between life and death, every day. How do they interpret and survive this world full of contradictions?
