Synopsis

My mother gave birth to me while fleeing from Afghanistan to Iran 25 years ago. My name is Nazila. While moving the family furniture from one place to another, constantly looking for a cheaper and more affordable option in Teheran, Nazila is filming her family and questioning her past and present. Her family struggles to survive since the Iranian government provides little-to-no services for Afghan immigrants. Nazila remembers how much better the world seemed to be for her when she was just a labor child, how happy she was, having a room for her own, how she managed to tolerate her brother and his strong religious beliefs, and who he wanted her to marry at a young age¡¦ how she looked at her mother while she was saying goodbye to a tree in the yard. Nazila always had to move away, leave behind her dreams which she had written on the ceiling of her room, say goodbye to her first love... Nazila has never experienced a sense of stability or belonging, yet her character is determined and strong, her experiences are rich, and her dreams are powerful. The film follows Nazila¡¯s reflective and emotional journey from present to past, and from reality to dreams.
