Synopsis

The rise of e-commerce is one of the biggest challenges for the traditional wholesale industry in China. When the pandemic hits, three femalewholesale vendors from three different generations struggle and seek a new way to survive. It¡¯s a story about the gains and losses of the three generations, represented by the three women, and how their lives have altered with the changing times.

Review

I grew up in Wuhan¡¯s Hanzheng Street. It¡¯s a textile market where my mother ran a clothing business for several years. However, in the next five to ten years, the past glory of Hanzheng Street might be a memory, and the textile industry could wipe out entirely. What is the fate of the Wuhan Wholesale Market in the age of digital commerce? Where would these people end up? I hope to show the characters¡¯ lives from the different generations and their choices with this film. The film follows their respective journeys and examines the impact of the changes they experience, and how we might consider these social and personal problems.
